Jimmy Kavanagh
Jimmy Kavanagh is an Irish actor, writer and alternative comedian based in Dublin and Edinburgh.
Jimmy has appeared in dramatic roles on both stage and screen, including short films Displaced (Best International Short Film, Polish International Film Festival 2023) and Stare (GAZE International LGBTQIA Film Festival 2024). Stage work includes The Last Incel (The Pleasance London, 2025) and Dracula (Edinburgh Horror Fest, 2025), as well as commercials for Irish Rail and Lyon’s Tea.
As co-founder of the Club Valentine comedy collective, Jimmy has co-written, produced, and performed in all of their shows, including Club Valentine at the Dublin Fringe (The Chapel Royal, 2024) and The Club Valentine Comedy Hour (Edinburgh Fringe Festival, 2022).
Jimmy was chosen for Backstage Theatre’s Activate Residency 2023, and spent 2024 as a Resident Artist at Lime Tree Theatre/Belltable, Limerick. With support from the Dunamaise Arts Centre, Shawbrook Residential, and the Kevin Kavanagh Gallery, he has developed and staged several original plays, including Slime! (Bualadh Bos Children’s Festival, 2024), Field Work (Faoin Spéír Festival, 2022) and Looking Through My Telescope At Another Telescope (Dunamaise Arts Centre, 2021).
